A summary of teen books for the Kindle. Heavy on the adventure, thriller, mysteries and fantasies. Extremely lite on teen chick lit. Written by a mother who takes joy in finding books her daughter loves (without alot of inappropriateness) and a teen who loves to read (and who calls her mother the best book picker ever!)

According to site creator, Kevin Kelly, cool tools really work. “A cool tool can be any book, gadget, software, video, map, hardware, material, or website that is tried and true. I am chiefly interested in stuff that is extraordinary, better than similar products, little-known, and reliably useful for an individual or small group. Items can be old items, or cheap things that you still dote on after years of use. Suggestions for tools much better than what is recommended here are always wanted. Tell me what you love.”

This is an offshoot of my other blog, Free Kindle Books Plus a Few Other Tips. The purpose is fairly straight-forward: each weekday, I will recommend a book in the Amazon Kindle store that costs all of a dollar or less (sometimes free) with an emphasis on the independent author.
“Why are you doing this?”
Some of you may ask that question, but the main reason is I have found many independent, self-published authors that typically fall under the radar screen amidst all of the noise from the “headline” authors I have really enjoyed. I think you will, too, plus the purchase price of one dollar (or less) is a pretty easy price point vs. throwing down ten or more bucks for something.
