On December 12, 1878, 4,020 St. Louisans picked up a copy of Joseph Pulitzer’s first newspaper. Today, more than 1.3 million adults read the St. Louis Post-Dispatch online or in print each week and is largest of 50 daily newspapers owned by Lee Enterprises.
